Larval mouthparts of C. circumdatus
a. Pecten epipharyngis, Note the generally regular, but moderately broad, teeth.
b. Antenna, Note the relatively short basal segment, only about 3-3.5 times as long as wide (A2/A1 about 0.23).
c. Mentum, Note the c2 teeth are partially separated from c1 on the central trifid tooth (type III).  4th laterals are reduced to level of 5th laterals(type II)
d. Ventromentum, with about 30 - 36 striae.  e. Mandible, note the narrow, but separated, third inner tooth.
